Taking care of our earth and addressing environmental issues are highly important.  Whether it's globally or in their local communities, youth can, and are playing an important role in taking better care of the environment.  The START Program is using the educational approach known as "Service-Learning" to combine community service with learning objectives to enhance our participant's ability to become more proactive in their responsibilities to the environment, their community, and themselves.  Students engage in community enrichment, cultural awareness/sensitivity, self-care and promoting community non-violence.
